Sub-3 Marathon Life Goal Reached! Two New Blogposts, a TV Appearance, a Speech at School, a Fun Ultramarathon

It’s not often you achieve a goal that’s been on your mind for multiple years. Now it has happened.

26th of March, 2024

Moinsen, everyone! 👋

It’s the end of March, spring is looming, one quarter of the year is nearly done. And with it, my third newsletter of this year hopefully reaches you while you’re doing great.

This one is packed, again.

First off, a few weeks ago I’ve published a blog post about my recent experiment to do water-only fasting for 24 hours. It’s been and interesting and enlightening journey. Maybe you’ve been thinking about fasting yourself? Check it out to learn more.

Then, bit of follow-up, I’ve given away a bunch of juggling ball sets in the blog post before that one, which had the topic of me learning how to juggle. All five sets have been claimed and left the building, and we already have a winner! Guy A. (that’s his real first name) from Munich has sent me a video of proof!

That’s very cool. 🎉

Other than that, I made two public appearances lately. One was on regional TV, discussing the benefits of running through nature on everything, but they just left in a quote of me emphasizing how great it’s for the little muscles and bands in our leg joints. Very well, it’s not wrong!

Just like last year, I was asked again to give a speech on endurance sports and an active lifestyle and how that entangles with philosophic existentialism by a friendly teacher at CJD Gymnasium in Braunschweig. I followed the call and the students, who were about to leave school, eagerly listened to my stories. Much fun!

Life Goal Achieved: Sub-3 Marathon!

The final seconds of a four year long spanning quest
The final seconds of a four year long spanning quest

The most important thing which happened in my life since the previous newsletter was that I actually ran a Sub-3 marathon. After 2:58:44 hours I finished at Bienwald Marathon, feeling absolutely elated. Now, the blog post is ready and I’m sharing all my training insights and the story of the race itself for you to take anything from it you want. I’m happy to read some feedback on it, if you can spare some!

To celebrate in style, I ran a small 61k ultramarathon in the nearby city of Schwerin a week after. Running is the best.

I hope you are all doing great and have a wonderful day.

All the best to you,
